Driver Network Phase 2

Certifications

In Admin 5, we now support the creation of 2 different types of certifications:

  • Skill, for certifications that require specific training or knowledge (e.g. rail yard, concierge)
    • You can now develop training videos/written materials/quizzes for skill-based certifications. If you submit them to the tech team, we'll set it up so that drivers can interact and earn these certs on their own time in the app
  • Geographic, to certify that a driver is willing and able to service a specific area within a larger region (e.g., a certain end of town, or a cluster of dealerships)

Driver Pipeline Configuration by Region

Region management has been migrated to Admin 5, and when a region is selected, you'll see a button to configure its driver pipeline settings. From there, you can determine:

  • If the region's hiring funnel is open (whether we are accepting new applications in that area)
  • How many drivers to keep in the region's backlog
    • Important to ensure we can keep a full waitlist of drivers at the ready
  • How many drivers to keep in the region's waitlist
    • To ensure we have enough drivers ready to activate when needed
  • How many active drivers the region will require in order to fulfill its moves
  • Which certifications are the highest priority
    • e.g. if we know we'll be onboarding new Genesis dealerships, we'll want to promote applicants who have the required Genesis training

When these fields are updated, backlog and waitlist drivers will be ranked automatically, giving priority to ones who have earned/accepted the priority certs for their region. The waitlist will automatically be filled to its limit with the top-ranking backlog drivers, and talent coordinators will be notified of the new targets.

Waitlist Drip Campaign

When configuring a region's driver pipeline, you can also specify how often the system should reach out to confirm a waitlisted driver's continued interest, and how many times they can skip confirmation until we assume they're no longer interested in the position.

At the intervals set, all current waitlist drivers will receive an automated text message asking them to confirm their interest with a "yes" or "no" reply. If they say "yes," their spot on the waitlist will remain secure. If they say "no," we'll mark them as withdrawn, and if they've exceeded the maximum number of missed responses, we'll assume they're no longer interested and withdraw for them.

Self-Service Certifications in the Driver App

In the app, all drivers will have the ability to:

  • Upload their own profile photos
  • Earn certifications
    • Applicants in the pipeline can access certifications from the home screen as well as a tab on the profile screen. Current drivers' home screens won't change, but they can access the same certifications from their profile screen.

Applicants can now also update their full profile information (which current drivers can already do). Earned certifications, completeness of their profile, and responses to questions in the registration form are all currently being computed when promoting backlog drivers and ranking the waitlist.

Admin 5 Driver Pipeline

When talent coordinators select a region in the driver pipeline view, the column of waitlisted drivers will appear in ranked order where applicable (that is, if a market manager has updated the region's pipeline config, and the background ranking functions have been completed).

There will also be a persistent banner at the top of the pipeline view to list regions with new recruitment need in priority order.

The pipeline view itself has also been streamlined. Visible columns are now limited to applicants who have made it through the initial automated portions of the pipeline and are ready for direct coordinator engagement.

Pausing Drivers in the Pipeline

From a driver's card in the pipeline view, you can now pause pre-active drivers in their current recruitment status for the length of time that you specify.

  • For example, if you've scheduled an interview but it's not until next week, you can put them on pause to stop the clock on their time in status.
  • If they are on the waitlist, they will not receive outreach from the drip campaign, and missed responses will not count against them

Confirmations Filtering

Added customer, region and date filtering to the confirmations index in Admin 5
